Welcome to Tubeboxd. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

The account you keep

You're responsible for your account. Don't share your password. If you sign in with Google, keep your Google account secure.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tubeboxd.

One person, one account. Don't create fake accounts to inflate follower counts or manipulate discovery.

What you post

You retain ownership of the diary entries, reviews, ratings, and lists you create. By posting them on Tubeboxd you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and reproduce them within the service.

You are responsible for what you post. Don't post:

• content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark,
• content that harasses, threatens, or targets a person or group,
• spam, off-topic promotion, or affiliate links,
• content that violates the law where you live or where our servers run.

We can remove content or accounts that break these rules. We'll usually notify you first, but we can act immediately if there's an imminent risk of harm.

YouTube data and the Google API

If you connect your Google account, you authorize us to call the YouTube Data API on your behalf to import the playlists you request. You can revoke this authorization at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The Chrome extension

The Tubeboxd Chrome extension reads only the active tab's URL, only when you click its toolbar icon or the on-page "Log on Tubeboxd" button. It communicates with tubeboxd.com using an API token you mint yourself. Uninstalling the extension deletes its local state.

Rate limits and abuse

We rate-limit auth endpoints (10 login attempts per 15 minutes per IP) and token minting (20 tokens per hour per user). Automated scraping is not allowed. Don't try to reverse-engineer our auth flow or exfiltrate other users' private data.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee that YouTube imports will succeed, that your data will never be lost, or that the service will be available at any particular time. We back up the database daily but recommend you export your data periodically at /settings/account.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Tubeboxd and its maintainers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of goodwill, or lost profits.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time at /settings/account. We can terminate accounts that break these rules. Deletion is irreversible — export your data first if you want to keep it.

Changes

We can update these terms. If we make material changes we'll update this page and, for account holders, send a notice by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
